Behind bars - Prison Heist mode leads new content drops for Dying Light

Attention, zombie fans! Techland has announced the pace of free content deliveries for Dying Light has been increased - starting today with a double content drop featuring a brand new location, a fresh game mode, a fearsome new enemy, a community bounty and best Easter wishes from the Techland team.

Content Drop #4 takes players to Prison Island - a brand new location to discover. This isolated fortress is home to Prison Heist, a fresh game mode where you must break into the armory as fast as you can - either solo or with friends in co-op. The group needs to optimize their strategy, co-operate tightly and loot the place clean before the alarm goes off. Better performance means more valuable rewards, but remember - be prepared for everything. The Prison Island will held a community contest later in April so stay alert for the full info.

Content Drop #5, also available now, brings Sgt. Deathrow - a previously unknown Demolisher mutation - to Old Town. He's bigger, stronger, and more unpredictable, but killing him gives you a massive amount of experience points. The next drop - numbered #6 - will be published in mid April.

Today is also the start of a brand new community bounty. In the Harran Egg Hunt players chase the zombified Easter Bunny and collect the eggs to unlock the magnificent Easter Outfit. Check out the in-game What’s New menu or go to dyinglightgame.com/bounties for details. The bounty ends on April 3rd.

Moreover, Techland has confirmed that Dying Light now supports the Chinese language.

Dying Light: Bad Blood | Techland Announces a New PvP Expansion

December 7th, 2017 - Wroclaw, Poland / As a response to numerous fan requests for a Player-vs-Player approach to Dying Light, and the recent popularity of the battle royale genre among the survival horror fans, today Techland unveiled its new standalone expansion - Dying Light: Bad Blood. REVIEW: Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition

Synopsis:
RUN. DRIVE. SURVIVE. Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition takes parkour-fueled zombie survival to a whole new level. Enjoy the definitive Dying Light experience with the brand-new Legend system, improved visuals, major gameplay enhancements, and more. This package comes with all the available bonus content, including Dying Light: The Following - a massive story-based expansion that brings mysterious characters, deadly new weapons, unexpected quests, and fully customizable and drivable dirt buggies.

Review:
When I first loaded up Dying Light, I thought it would just be another open world Zombie game, but you soon realise it is so much more than that. The parkour element takes things to a completely new level.

Of course you still get to kill zombies, but you also get to set traps, search building for items you can use to craft new weapons, and as you progress through the games, the awkwardness at the beginning soon transfers into you racing along rooftops without a care in the world, well apart from the zombies below who want to eat your brains.

The game is much deeper than you first thing and the more you player and develop your character the more you get out of it.

With the various online modes, story points, challenges and so on, this is a game you will be playing for quite a while. And although it can be quite frustrating when you first start playing, as soon as you start to build up your character, that frustration soon turns into satisfying achievement when you unlock a new weapon, or figure out how to get to the point on the map you previously couldn't figure out.

Dying Light is a great game, and with the new content drops (see below) and new additions to the game, it can only get better.

I give this game a strong 8/10

George A. Romero Tribute Mural Unveiled in Dying Light with Backing from the Horror Icon’s Son

October 19th, 2017 – Wroclaw, Poland / Techland is proud to unveil a special commemorative mural to the Father of Zombies, George A. Romero, in Dying Light. The tribute has received the full backing of the iconic director’s son, George Cameron Romero.

Techland has also released a short video in which a horde of the undead puts their flesh-cravings aside to salute the man who invented the zombie genre of cinema and inspired generations of future horror auteurs -- including Techland’s own Dying Light team.

Players can visit the graffiti-style mural in the area around Jaffar's Workshop and pay their respects, as the art was added to the game on Monday as part of the Content Drop #1 update.

George A. Romero’s son, George Cameron Romero, said of the tribute:

"When members of Techland reached out to me asking if I would be ok with them paying homage to my father in their game "Dying Light," I was honored as I'm a massive fan of the game and I love the graffiti work they do! What a beautiful way to give his fans a lasting tribute on a wall that won't get painted over. I hope everyone who is a fan of his, or mine, will have fun looking for the George A. Romero commemorative mural in the game and I hope everyone out there remembers that he was once called the most dangerous filmmaker alive, #filmsusedtobedangerous and thanks to him I will never forget that #filmisfearless."

Considered by many to be one of the most important independent filmmakers of all time, Romero’s back catalogue of gruesome and satirical horror films includes: Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead.
